THE SYSTEM
What is PLASMAIR?
PLASMAIR: integrated environmental decontamination system
PLASMAIR is an integrated ducted system designed for continuous indoor air decontamination and environmental quality control.
The patented SDBD cold plasma technology enables controlled generation of reactive oxygen and nitrogen species (RONS), supporting a significant reduction of microbiological load in healthcare, pharmaceutical, industrial and controlled environments where high decontamination performance and process reproducibility are required.
Integrated with existing HVAC/VMC systems, PLASMAIR also contributes to the reduction of airborne particles, allergens, odours and VOCs, while helping optimise airflow rates and energy consumption.
The system can be integrated into existing ventilation infrastructures without structural room modifications, requiring connection only at the selected airflow point.
Designed for retrofit installations
PLASMAIR can be integrated into existing ventilation systems without structural modifications to the environment.
FUNCTIONAL SCHEME
The air treatment cycle
PLASMAIR intercepts the airflow in the existing VMC and treats it continuously. Integrating the system makes it possible to reduce airflow rates while maintaining the same ISO classification, thereby reducing AHU energy consumption. The unit, already equipped with G4–F7 and H13/H14 filters, is further enhanced by PLASMAIR with an additional F9 filter.

MAIN COMPONENTS
F9 / ISO ePM1 filter
Retains spores, pollen, airborne bacteria and fine particulate matter.
EM ≥ 80–90% @ 0,1 µm
G4 / ISO ePM1 filter
Return‑air protection filter upstream of the heat‑recovery unit. Protects the heat exchanger from environmental contamination and extending HVAC component lifetime.
Heat‑recovery protection
SDBD
Next‑generation dielectric barrier discharge reactors. Generate reactive species (ROS/RNS) — O₃, ·OH, H₂O₂, O· — for automatic, dynamic inactivation of bacteria, viruses and spores.
PoloPlasma patent 2022
HV Generator
Supply the SDBD actuators with the high‑frequency electric field required to ionise the air. Software‑adjustable to modulate plasma intensity.
PWM control
CTRL – PID control
Local touch‑screen interface for system control. The PID controller automatically regulates the cycles based on real‑time sensor data.
RS485 Modbus · IoT cloud
Continuous environmental sensing
Sensors distributed on an RS485 Modbus network for continuous monitoring of O₃, O₂, CO₂, temperature, relative humidity and differential pressure. Redundant O₃ sensing for active safety.

WHY CHOOSE PLASMAIR
System benefits
>95%
Microbiological load reduction
Reduction of bacteria, viruses, mould and spores in the air and on surfaces. Validated in multiple real-world installations with continuous 24/7 testing.
−40%
Energy saving
Optimised recirculation reduces outdoor air volumes while maintaining ISO classification. Less energy required for HVAC conditioning demand.
+100%
Filter lifetime
Plasma decontaminates the filters from the inside, extending their life and reducing replacement frequency.
24/7
Continuous monitoring
All environmental parameters are recorded continuously. Historical logs available for ISO 14644‑1:2022 regulatory audits.
Zero
Seamless integration
Installed on the existing VMC by intercepting airflow at the chosen point. No structural changes to the environment.
